New Format and Direction!!!

So... as you know I now have a new space to call my own. Well not totally mine! I share it with the best hubby ever and I wanna make our curent living location a home that is us. It needs to be comfy, inviting, warm, with personality and oh so charming!

And... I thought maybe people might want to see what I have done or am doing. There will be decorating, sewing, painting, and some... oh what is the world .... furniture redo's, re-vamps, or revives. I will include before and after photos, details, and attempt to explain what I did.

Hopefully... you will enjoy the changes and may find either inspiration or happiness in the changes like I will .

What is the difference between complacent and complaisant?

Complaisant means 'eager to please' and 'showing a cheerful willingness to fulfill others' wishes'. Complacent is quite the opposite, 'being pleased with oneself; contented to a fault'. However, they share one meaning, which may cause them to be confused - each also carries the sense of 'obliging, agreeable'. One could differentiate the two words by saying that complaisant is the active adverb and complacent denotes a more passive feeling. Complaisant was first recorded in 1647, deriving from Latin complacere. Complacent comes from the same Latin word, but is not found in writing until 1660.

Today for Tomorrow

I know in my head what my heart doesn't feel.
Doesn't make it any less true
For feelings are fickle and last a only awhile.
Give me sometime and I know that they will catch up.
You said you'd never leave, nor forsake and you never changed,
so why do I feel today what tomorrow has not brought.
There are no guarantees, and I know that I am right where I need to be
The time, the place, they all serve a purpose.
Make it right, make it calm and make it peaceful
Promise me tomorrow you'll feel the same way as today
and
Then can I feel in my heart tomorrow what my head says today.

Happy Holidays!

Oh look, yet another Christmas TV special!
How touching to have the meaning of Christmas
brought to us by cola, fast food, and beer....
Who'd have ever guessed that
product consumption, popular entertainment,
and spirituality would mix so harmoniously?
~Bill Watterson, Calvin & Hobbes

I don't think that I need to explain the humorous side in this joke... But for for those who can not appreciate it, I apologize if any offense has been taken. Please enjoy this time of year as it was meant to be. A time for God, family, friends, and memories. Although we all know Christ was not really born in December, may we remember the anniversary of one of the greatest gifts God ever gave the world. May humor, great peace, fellowship and all that you ask for be granted (and I don't mean gifts).

The Remants of last night...

I started this post the "Remants of Last Night" and for some reason never finished it, so here is shot number two.

Last night I touched the Lord and felt his mighty touch.
I know is was the Lord cause no one makes me feel this way.
He held me close and told that all would be alright.
I did not understand how, it all had seemed so futile, the battle that I fought.
Then a still small voice said once again, "I did it perfectly last time what would change today?"
I smiled slightly and nodded, he was so very right, how could I forget that he is the same yesterday today and forever.

Wind of a great thought.

Okay, so I know that I am unique but I think that many people would be able to relate to the following situation. So I am lying in bed and this great thought that came to me, one that seemed like a revelation at the time. And I said to myself you need to blog that, so write it down for tomorrow. Nah, I am too tried to get up again and besides, with such a great thought I will remember it in the morning, right? Well, as I am sure that you can guess how this is going to go, wrong! I did not remember and now I am irritated at myself cause my blog is sorely lacking recently. For which I would like to take the time to apologize for right now. I will try to be more diligent in my posting.

Please stop talking!!!

Take a deep breath and fill your lungs, inhaling through your nose, hold for 3 seconds and release through the mouth slowly. Feel better? Now stop reading and just listen............(don't worry, I will wait for you). ....................................................................... What do you hear? Do you hear the world passing you by or you passing the world. I think that it is one of those glass half full, glass half empty things, you either see it or you don't. I think that we often get lost in the hustle and bustle, and we need a moment to take a deep breath and listen. Listen to the falling snow, the laughing kids, the singing mouths, the honking horns, listen to the smiles, the growing rose and the gathering rain. Now before you judge me and say that I must have it great sun shining day here in my world, let me say, I am STRESSED out. The roads are horrible despite the beautiful snow and work is driving me crazy despite the fact that they pay for my labor. That said I took a moment to listen to the snow fall, I took a moment to hear the smile in a mother's voice and I even took a moment to listen to the silence of being with God. So... please stop talking and listen with me to the quiet things.

Carpets or Peace makers?

If you ever showed the world your true self, life as you know it would change. Moments would never be the same, feelings would change. If we reacted and moved with our every thought, whim, and compulsion, the life we live would change. In general do not know what to do with the real side. Even those who control their whims and cumpulsion, but show there feelings, emotions and thoughts often leave others in their wake wondering what just happened. We as humans have learnt that all thoughts must be checked and controlled to all degrees. I am not saying that you should be allowed to spout every thought that pops in to your head but we seem to be discouraged to some degree in communication. We must always be kind, courteous and almost carpet like. When did we decide that as people perhaps even as christians that we must except all, because we must show the love of Christ. Even among ourselves, we scorn the one who stand up. Can we balance or walk the fine line between standing ground with love and just erring on the safe side and baring it with a smile. Does God require this or have we decided that as humans we cannot practice the art of fine communication without judgement?

"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God." - Matthew 5:9

Follow up on God, Decor and History

In regards to the last post I wanted to make it clear that it is simply an observation that people turn to religion in times of pain and suffering. Through out the history religion has been such large part of everyday life for so many and though they may find comfort in their current beliefs, whichever that may be. I still believe that there is only one God. His name his Jesus Christ, Jehovah, the Son of God, born of a woman named Mary. Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. God with us, the Almighty, the Everlasting Father, the great I am. The beginning and the end. If you have seen me you have seen the Father, John 14:9"Jesus said unto him, "Have I been so long a time with you, and yet hast thou not known Me, Philip? He that hath seen Me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then,`Show us the Father'?". All these three are one. Not open for debate. Search the scriptures and see for yourself. Isaiah 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little and there a little."

Base your knowledge on the whole book not just a segment.

God, Decor, History and Affect

Recently we have been studying the history of the church at our local congregation and I have found it quite interesting. I have also been taking a course in interior design in which we are currently learning interiors past and present. Now in anyone's mind you would say, so what does that have to do with church history, and with good cause. When studying the designs and decor of the Egyptians, Greeks, Romans and the people of the Middle Ages, you will find that they choose certain looks based on the things around them, things that matter or are significant. Which in those days tended to be things from the earth and the gods. Much of the architecture, sculptures, and furniture portray animals, plants and deity. Even as you follow it through the ages from the Egyptians to the Middle Ages you find that it appears to become more centered around their religious movement at the time, which became more prominent. The Egyptians were very superstitious in their offering of sacrifices, living in fear of angering the many gods and wearing of amulets for protection from spirits. As time progressed we turned to a more spiritualistic aspect in the sense that the Roman Catholic church came along and changed they way religion was viewed. As least during the Middle Ages, life was harshly controlled by those who reigned. It was a time of dependency, very dismal, and you can see that in the decor. Many of the great religious portraits and paintings were done in this time of great dependency on the church to get them through the hard times these people faced. As I sat in class and thought of these things, I then thought of the history of the church and realized that you can never take religion from life. You can never remove God from from the goings of life. I recently saw this book in Chapters, and I have unfortunately forgotten the name and would love to read but, it talks of how one particular scientist has discovered that contrary to popular belief we are hard wired for spiritualism by God. Everything that we have is being affected by the spiritual beliefs that we as individuals or society hold. You cannot remove it, so how do you change it? How important is the beliefs and feelings that we should hold so near and dear to our hearts? What can be more important than a belief so great that can effect all that we have and will remain for those behind us? Documented in time and design for all.

This thing we call Life

This thing we call life, taken so for granted yet the biggest part of who we are. It determines our emotions at times, our hopes and dreams at times, and causes us to believe that it shapes our future. Life is not who we are but something we must participate in. A calling for all who breath, who dare, a challenge for those who wish to maximize it's full potential. Life is the potential to be great, to be wise, to gain credibility. To say when you died, if you could write your own eulogy, that life was full. Full of great achievements, losses and gains, love, fun and giving. So say that you were loyal, honorable, trustworthy, and had a heart of gold. Life, the biggest part of who we are, used to our advantage, to make us the better people we should be.

Moving...

To move and be moved...

Think about that for a second.... What does that mean? Is it about moving houses, moving locations, moving physically? I guess that you could say that they are all true. Moving is changing locations, whether constantly or progressively, but none the less your current location is no longer acceptable. You move forward, backward, or even sideways. 95% of the time moving is good, work but still good. The changing of your current circumstances to something better, bigger, more fruitful, prosperous, and last but not least not frozen in time. Frozen in the old ways of thinking, and acting. New knowledge, gained knowledge is always great knowledge. What you do with it decides if you are moving or frozen. The ice age is past, why should we maintain that status of cold desolation and ignorance. Seeking greater heights, new growth and moving forward. To move and be moved... move houses, move locations, move physically, move toward to being all that you can be.

Just for Rachel

Rachel, this dear diary moment is for you...so please enjoy!

Dear Diary,
With all that has been going on recently I am feeling a little overwhelmed. I wrote a little about it on my last post but thought that I would you give you a detailed and updated version of it all. I recently started a new job that although challenging (which is exactly what I want) there is so much to know/memorize that I feel filled to the brim. It is extremely cool between learning about MMBTU, flow schedules for natural gas, deal confirmations, and pipeline names. Plus with this being officially my third day at the new job, I also start night classes for Interior Design (my lifelong dream) on September 11th. With these two things going on and more from life, period, I am worrying and stressing just a little. I know I am whining a little...LOL! But I am done now. On to good things. I will try to keep you updated on how school is going and all that I am learning, though I do question if I can fit anymore in this poor little pea brain. I just returned from vacation. Beaches, sand, daydreaming and shopping. What more could a girl ask for except maybe a little more money to do more shopping. Just Kidding, although... more money is always nice. Anyway I better get to bed, big day tomorrow being Friday and all. Night.

The Biggest Thought Ever

So recently I have been doing a lot of thinking, worrying and stressing. I know, worrying only ruins today and helps nothing tomorrow. But that said, the greatest misunderstandings are usually the greatest revelations, especially when it comes to the intricacies and working of God. My theory is that the things you do not understand today because the coolest things that seem so simple and enlightening. I have yet to feel the feel the enlightenment but as the song says, "He is an on time God". For now I simply go day to day, one step at a time, knowing that it all has to work out.

Love You all,

All I Need...

Left my fear by the side of the road
Hear You speak
Won't let go
Fall to my knees as I lift my hands to pray
Got every reason to be here again
Father's love that draws me in
And all my eyes wanna see is a glimpse of You
All I need is You
All I need is You Lord
Is you Lord
All I need is You
All I need is you Lord
Is you Lord
One more day and it's not the same
Your spirit calls my heart to sing
Drawn to the voice of my Saviour once again
Where would my soul be without Your Son
Gave His life to save the earth
Rest in the thought that You're watching over me
All I need is You
All I need is You Lord
Is you Lord
All I need is You
You hold the universe
You hold everyone on earth
You hold the universe
You hold
You hold

Content

When I first started blogging there was a lot on my mind, I know that some of you would like to argue with that, but who asked you anyway. Just kidding ! Anyway as I was saying, there was a lot on mind. My life had taken a different turn then expected, things were very up on the air, it was a new beginning, and I felt I had a lot to change. Personally, spiritually and definitely with the direction that things could go. Recently there have been some changes that I am very happy about. In my changes I am content that things are moving forward and for the good. In that I have so much yet so little inspiration with which to write about.

"....And be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." (Hebrews 13:5)

Children's Rhymes

" Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, guess I'll go eat worms, Long thin slimy ones, short fat juicy ones, itsy bitsy fuzzy wuzzy worms." Does anyone remember that child rhyme? Do you ever get that feeling somedays. For some reason this thought occurred to me. Why do we fell this way? Today I feel wonderful but when you think about it, very rarely is there an opportunity for no one to like you. Someone, somewhere will always love/like you. You are NEVER disliked by everyone. So, just find that one who cares and hang on to them for dear life. Sometimes, like the bible say we need to be as little children. The thoughts and gestures of the children are so heart felt and sincere. I am not suggesting you go eat worms, but Matthew 18:3 "And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." Sounds like children hold some great truths in those little minds.

I know that some of this makes no sense, Justunderstand this, be as a little child in faith and love, not maturity.

The Best Thing/s in the World

Everybody knows the saying that the best things in life are not things, well guess what? I LOVE that line cause it is so very true. The absolute best things in life are not tangible things that you an set on a shelf ans say, " You know what this 'thing' needs insurance cause if I loose it, I have lost the best thing there ever was". My list of the best has been mentioned before but it always good to review itand besides this one ismore carnal (fleshly) and fun. When you review your own, it makes you feel so happy and giddy with utter joy. So here is my small but giddy moment of review, and not necessarily in order!

1. FRIENDS (and yes this is capitalized for a reason)
2. Summer
3. Vehicles
4. Fun
5. Food (never forget that)
6. Family
7. Love (generally for people, not a significant other... I know what you all are thinking)
8. Travel
9. Ice Cream
10. Home (not a house, but a comfortable, safe place)

I could keep going but thought that I would spare you all of the ramblings of my wandering and exuberant, hmmmm... sometime kooky personality.

The Complexities of Life

Life, people, relationships are so very complex. Individuals who feels that you can "just stop" or that you can just handle it, I believe, are very naive and small worlded (not a word I KNOW, please forgive me). If the world that you live has no complicated people, then tell me this. According to Wikipedia, "Brains can be extremely complex. For example, the human brain contains more than 100 billion neurons, each linked to as many as 10,000 other neurons." With each of those processing, the thoughts that cycle and are never claimed into your memory or current thoughts but are still processed and moved along. One way that I heard it described was that the mind has a three chamber levels of filtering. As thoughts pass the mind kinda like visitors, there are filtered unconsciously and an immediate decision is made whether to allow them into the foyer. This approved thought or memory is then passed to the sitting room until announced and acknowledged, and then to the library to entertain. All this happens in nanoseconds without you even being aware it has taken place. This is a complex mind at work in it's lowest abilities. For more cool information on the brain follow this link... and don't ever think that we are not complex. We are too cool a specimen to be simple. LOL!

The Lense Through Which We View

The lens through which we view was something said to me in a time when I felt that I had been misjudged and misread. What I mean is that basically some people said somethings about me that to begin with, I felt they knew nothing about, and/or never hung out with me at all to even know. It becomes more apparent to me that we as a "loving family", the Church can be very judgemental and forget that we as the scriptures say, must first remove the moat from thine own eye before you can aid your brother in removing the beam from his. Not the exact words but you get the meaning. Do we or are we viewing others in a way that we would want to be viewed or portraying the wrong image. Everyone has a different interpretation of things, but does that mean your version is correct? No, it is simply how you see it. There are two different kinds of lenses through which we view. "Every lens has a focal point, where all the light directed at that lens converges or diverges and the distance between the lens and that point is called the focal length. The radius of the curvature of a lens is exactly twice the focal length. Lenses can create both real and virtual images, real being images that are actually there, virtual images only being able to be seen by looking into the lens. Images are also either inverted or erect, upside down or right side up respectively".
1. Concave: curving in or hollowed inward.
2.Convex: curving out or bulging outward.

Do we have the wrong focal point and are we construing the image/s? Do we see things as bigger then they are or farther away? I speak to myself as much as to others. From the pain inflicted by others on me, I see what I need to work on.

All those who agree with me say, Amen! I think that everyone would agree, that this week was awesome! "Another name in the Rafters" really struck a cord. Because I am a visual person, to me you can just see the names of those who are no longer here and it makes it real. All I can say is very good! I know that there are others who can put it much more eloquently. Change is here, right now. Possibilities are endless, being for God is cool,

Yeeha!

Stampede quickly approaches and Youth Conference is here. The long weekend has ended (had a four day weekend), and I valiantly searching for a car, blah! My car rental ends on Friday, blah again! We went camping, the weather was gorgeous and we all got a little burnt. Which for some of us us thankfully turns to a tan. I will post pics at a later date. Speaking of pics, I have more to post of Tabor and Alana's wedding but will also do that later. So keep watching for them... The weather is supposed to be beautiful this week with Thursday forecasted as 29 degrees. Busy, busy. busy. The summer fun of BBQ's, fireworks, rafting, tennis, ice cream, and soooo much more! There are times when he needs to help me and there are times when he needs to fix me alone.

What Kind of Love...

What is love? The dictionary defines love as: a strong positive emotion of regard and affection, being enamored, having a great affection or devotion. When you look at the definitions given in the bible, they somewhat differ, and not only that but there are also different kinds of "love". The most common one that everyone has and is not very hard to feel is, phileo. Phileo is the love based on "familiarity and direct interaction". When you know someone it is not hard to love them. You love them for who they are, and then there are those that "do not deserve" to be loved or there is no connection on which to love them. This is where God asks us to dig deep and show the agape love that is only possible through Christ. Agape is described as, non partial, self sacrificing, regardless of our circumstances. Can we still follow God's commandment love thy neighbor as yourself if we have a different kind of love for each person? What did God mean when he said love thy neighbor as thyself? When I asked what it means to love thy neighbor as thy self, I think we have to first examine how we love ourselves. People generally love themselves regardless of the stupid things that they do. There are some who have such a hard time with this concept of self love and I believe that this is where they make the decision to end there lives. If you cannot love yourself for you are, you cannot love another. Not even through Christ, simply because Christ is love, and them that are in Christ have the love of Christ in them, by this shall all men know that you are his. If you love yourself, you will respect the body you live in. By loving yourself you can then love others, through Christ with agape. What kind of love? The love of Christ that cause us to love, as an action not a noun, agape, self sacrificing and non partial.

Apples of Gold

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pitchers of silver. May my words and my thoughts be edifying, for your thoughts become words and your words actions. Your actions speak louder then your words so you are confirming your thoughts. Whether they be good or bad is all up to you. "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things". Philippians 4:8. Think on these things!

The Funkiest Art

I saw this cool website with some very abstract but collected art in the sense that her thoughts in designing are very collected but it has an air of abstract and randomness.. It is tedious but freeing. I think this stuff is pretty cool and I usually do not care for abstract. I have been told this is because I am a earth person, grounded and structured... Anyway enjoy!

Pursue...

There are many things in life that will catch your eye, but only a few will catch your heart...pursue those. - Michael Nolan

Pursue that which matters, pursue those you care for, pursue the dreams you have, and most of all pursue the love that God brings. For in your pursuing you find out who are, what matters and where you want to be. Working for it, whatever that may be, causes you to appreciate more what you have obtained.

A Personal Cry

How do we become the people that God's needs to be without losing who we are as person? What I mean is how do we balance the being human, living, loving, and still be ever doing God's work. Hopefully that makes sense what I am trying to say. How do we make the changes necessary to live a full and complete life with God? How do we make a difference in this ever changing world where we are just another sale being pushed? How do we show the love and care that we so often talk about? All these questions I think of often, and it was once gain brought to my attention. How can we say that we love, but have yet to learn the lesson that " love is a verb, an action, something that we do" (thanks Dave). Love is shaking that person's hand, giving them a hug or genuinely caring about them as a person not another seat filled. They have dreams, desires and feelings. How do we change those feeling of familiarity with our surroundings and where we are in life. Can we really say that we are content when we we have the overpowering feeling that there is more out there. I know that we are whole in Christ, but why is there still this pressing feeling that we can and are better then where we currently rest. Why am I not content? Is it cause I know that that there is more but I am too lazy or scared to get and move? I am afraid of the changes and what they will bring? Can our small mind not comprehend the possibilities? Are as loving as we think we are? Are we as open and vulnerable as we should be? I know that these are alot questions, and I as I said I think of these alot. I feel in a constant state of unrest, almost burden like, but unsure of what for. I fell restless and unsettled, but to what end? God help!

God Bless

My apologies, this particular article is not the most well written and easy to understand but it really comes from heart. Things that are hard to say and convey, often mean the most, in the sense that you are a little overwhelmed and find it hard to think beyond the current thoughts. I have not really proofread this, but simply put words to screen. Please pray for me/with me. I guess that you could consider this article a bit of a personal cry.

Quickly Approaching

Wedding plans have been on my mind a lot lately with Alana's wedding date quickly approaching and so much to do. But then as I sit to write this I am reminded of a much more important wedding day that is also quickly coming. As I hope you all know, I am referring to the coming of the Lord. The day when we shall be caught up to meet him in the sky. The bridegroom cometh! This has been on my mind recently for some reason, the bible says no man knoweth when the son of man cometh, but I do know this, it is soon. It seems the thought keeps coming to me, make haste, make right the way, reach for those, seek. I must remember to keep myself ever ready. Remembering and praying to always love, forgive, seek repentance, keeping your oil full. I know that this was a slight digression from my original beginning and some what heavy, so my sincere apologies.

Always looking towards the heavens, seeking the wonder and splendor of a God, oh so great and mighty, for the vastness of the space can never hold all his grandeur and omnipotence.

Nothing to Say

Well, for once you can all rejoice, I have nothing to say. And, yes you may crack all the jokes you would like right now, I can't hear you anyway. Seriously though, I have no great words of wisdom, no moving thoughts, or great revelations, just this....

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth (Psalms 46:10)

Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven. (Psalms 107:30)

P.S. My apologies to my readers I promise to get some inspiration very soon. I am actually working on an article right now... Oh, and I owe you all photos from Sinai Camp.

Mount Sinai

Well, aaaahhhhh...... So very good. To all those who did not make it, I pity you. Okay pity is maybe not the best word, so lets just say that you seriously missed out! I am not quite sure where to begin. Let's start with the non spiritual aspect and work are way to the best part, God. I enjoyed the delicious cooking of the Melwoods (YUM!) I stayed in the Deman's heated trailer (AH!) and the cookhouse made a great place where two or three could gather in his name (Prayer). The weather was gorgeous but the mosquitos were out in hords, I do not think that I have seen the mosquitos so bad in 22 years of life. Basically, my legs lok like I have chicken pox. I counted last night and I have 53 bites on the lower half of my legs. Needless to say I look like a bit of a spectacle. My thoughts are with you Loro (she understands)! Food was good, fun was good, relaxation was good, and the prayer was great! There was the most amazing breakfast prepared by some of guys (we were SHOCKED!) on Sunday morning. I will post pictures as soon as I can as well as more stories.

PS. Just trying to keep you coming back!

Food for thought

There are so many words and tidbits that you can take away with you everyday and use it for own encouragement or pass it on. So here you are, I am passing on some that I thought very cool. My favorite is the last one, but you have to start from the top!

“Seasons change, friends move away, and life goes on from day to day. Flowers fade and streams go dry and many times we wonder why. Yet we can always be assured because God tells us in His Word, that unlike changes in the weather, love goes on and lasts” - Unknown

"The friendship that can cease has never been real" - St Jerome

"The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in" - Morrie Schwartz

“Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections.” - Unknown

PS. I think everyone should receive a quote of the day.

"Creation Rules over Evolution"

While reading the paper this morning there was a small article on the front page talking of a new musuem that will be opening. I really would like to go if anyone wants to tag along. Here is the article, I have copied and pasted this from the Calgary Herald web.

Creation rules over Evolution

By Paula Beauchamp,
Calgary HeraldPublished: Tuesday, May 22, 2007

Canada's first permanent creation museum --set to open in Alberta next month -- will use fossil displays to support the Bible's explanation of creation.
The controversial Big Valley Creation Science Museum, located east of Innisfail, is billed as an alternative to the world view presented by the Royal Tyrell Museum in Drumheller and will open on June 5.
Owner Harry Nibourg said in a press release that the museum provides compelling evidence for creation and refutes any unguided, "natural" processes such as evolution. He said the museum's "fossils and the flood" display, which teams a giant model of Noah's ark with museum-quality fossils, is evidence the biblical flood actually happened.
According to the museum's website, another display called "dinosaurs and humans" disproves evolutionary theory that dinosaurs became extinct at least 60 million years before humans evolved.
As expected, the museum has its detractors.
University of Calgary biology professor Anthony Russell said an honest museum of creation would merely say this is our evidence and this is what we believe it shows.
"I can't say it is a bad thing," he said.
"But it is not saying, 'Come in and make up your own mind.'
"It is a propaganda approach and I don't know society really needs that sort of thing."
U of C's Dr. Marvin Fritzler, a professor of medicine and chair of the Alberta Science Research Authority said if the museum "refutes evolution lock, stock and barrel, I'd say it was a little head in the sand."
But he said there was no harm in people exposing themselves to opinions and beliefs as long as they keep an open mind.
Inspired by the Bible, the museum's displays include a bacterial flagellum and DNA stand, a terrible lizards display that references Job 40 & 41 and an "age of the Earth" display.
Creationists typically believe the Bible is the literal truth and that God created the world in six days, less than 10,000 years ago.

Welcome to Life!`

Today is Monday May 21st, and I am welcoming all people to life. Sounds crazy I know cause some of you are thinking, "Hey, I live life trust me, the tire went flat, so and so said this about me, the kids are sick, and seriously, it is wearing me down." I know what you mean, tomorrow is another day at work and another week and another meal to cook. But really truly and honestly is that life? I would say no. There is so much more then the dishes, although they are part. But if you were on your death bed would say your life was full because you did dishes 24 times a day? Encountre, life is life by the friends, family and experiences that you had. When you say someone has a full life you never ask how many time that their children were sick or how many times they had a flat tire. That is a ridiculous thought in our minds. So I ask, why do we blame all the "bad things" on "life". Life is here and now, the good the bad, the sick kids and the crying laugh over a great joke. So I say from heart to heart, welcome to life!

Mine Iniquities...

How many are mine iniquities and sins? Make me to know my transgression and my sin.( Job 13:23)

I started this blog as a prayer to God, "Show me mine iniquities, show me my wrongdoings". Hit me with a two by four if neccessary. Show me how to love my neighbor as myself. Show me that, now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity(I Corinthians 13:13) Charity meaning; a kindly and lenient attitude toward people. Then I started to ask, can we honestly look in to our hearts and say, "I am kindly and lenient toward others." I forgive and understand that my greatest faults and judgements are greater then the person I judge. Judge not , that you be not judged? "Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel" (II Kings 19:22) Does this mean that when we judge and cast condemnation on another we also do so to Christ? "Let all their wickedness come before thee; and do unto them, as thou hast done unto me for all my transgressions: for my sighs are many, and my heart is faint" (Lamentations 1:22) Does God judge us for the things we say and do against another in our hearts and by our actions? If the Bible says ( Mark 12:31),there is none other commandment greater than these, is to love our neighbor as ourself" then we fail to follow a great commandment that defines/determines our salvation, who we are and what we have through Christ. There is a kid's song that says, "love one another, he said love one another as I have loved you, by this shall all men know that you are mine, if you have love for one another all the time".

-Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these(John 13:34).

-By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another(John 13:35).

-This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you(John 15:12). For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.(I John 3:11)

-And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. (I John 3:23)

And finally....By obeying through the spirit, you have purified your souls, making your heart right before God.

-Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently(I Peter 1:22)

-Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin? (Proverbs 20:9)

-Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. (Psalms 51:10)

-Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. (James 4:8)

-And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. (Colossians 3:17)

*My sincere apologies for the harsh words or thoughts, I wish to offend no one, but speak only from my heart. Love Alicia

A Greeting!

To all the mothers who are blessed with children of there own and to those who have children of the heart. You all are mothers that someone cherishes, for you have changed a life forever.

A very Happy Mother's Day to all mothers around the world!
May God richly bless You!
This is my mom and one of my sister's.
I LOVE YOU!

The Reactions to the Actions

Are you the reaction to the actions of others? What I mean is do you do exactly what others say that you are or do. Do you step out of the norm and go a step above and beyond. Do fall prey to the rumors, false words, or lack of belief that people may say of you? Can you prove that you are bigger and better then that? Actions speak louder then words. Show them, your words are followed by your actions. Backing things up and covering your bases. You can and are better then the masses say. Be all that you can be where ever and whenever. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13

I am in Love!

I want the world to know that I am in love! Now before you draw anymore conclusions then you already have, I must explain. I cannot help myself, I am so happy, giddy, hyper and I feel like I am on cloud nine. I am so happy, so blessed, and loved by the most important person ever, things are coming together in so many areas. The one and only explanation that I have is, God. There is no other explanation for all the wonderful things and feelings. As my favorite song says, "I am a friend of God". These intense feelings of ecstatic joy make me want to squeal, I cannot stop grinning, and wish that I could portray better. Oh Well! I am elated and no one can stop me..... pphhhtttttt!

I AM IN LOVE!

Writers in Prison by Claire Braz-Valentine

I saw this article and thought that it was very touching...Enjoy.

I was doing a guest writing workshop at Susanville State Prison near the Sierra Nevada foothills in northern California. Most of the men doing time there are sentenced to prison because of drugs. They are housed in huge dormitories in bunk beds. They have no privacy, no place to be alone, no place to think quietly. I had great apprehensions when I walked onto the prison grounds.I had taught writing workshops at many California prisons, but those prisons had cells. In Cells, even if they are shared with another inmate, one can find a least a little writing time. Surely the men here at Susanville were not going to be interested in what I had to offer.

For the rest of the story...

22 Degrees and Loving It!

Well, it is Tuesday , a long weekend is coming up and today is going to be BEAUTIFUL! What more can you ask for? Except maybe some writing inspiration. Oh Well! It is gorgeous out and God is good! That is be inspiration enough. This beautiful day was created just for me. Selfish I know, but Thank you, God!

(Psalms 33:6) By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth I will declare the decree.

(Psalms 2:7) the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

Are we Justified?

Bitterness, generally thought of as an adult disease, is something that we have a hard time with and that small little concept called forgiveness. We feel that we are justified in the feelings that we have. As the good ole saying goes if you drink poison the person you hate is sure to die, right? Okay, so I am a little sarcastic but only to prove a point. Why is that we seem to be “justified” in today's society for bitterness? And how do we deal with or manage these “justified” feelings? Through love, which conquers all. I know that I have written about this somewhat before. But as the greatest and most important commandment I think that it bears some weight. Why is that we hold on to that which is detrimental to our physical, mental and spiritual well being? Do we choose battles, over love? Hatred or bitterness over peace with all? Originally when I started this article I questioned and asked how, why, and the solution. I had pages of information. But when all is said and done does all that matter? No, because you can know everything about it, how many times the bible mentions it, and the definition, but if you wish to get rid of it there is only one thing you need to know. Love conquers all. I am not saying that it is going to be easy, but a weeded garden is a place that all want to come. You shall bear witness by the fruit that you bear.

Bitterness imprisons life; love releases it. Bitterness paralyzes life; love empowers it. Bitterness sours life; love heals it. Bitterness blinds life; love anoints its eye.
